School Sanitation and Hygiene Education: Results from the assessment of a 6-country pilot project, draws together the results of all of the country assessments. Research teams in each of the six countries worked jointly to develop an assessment framework as well as their own country-relevant methodologies. The pilot covered 3 continents and looked at SSHE programmes in Burkina Faso, Colombia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Vietnam and Zambia and covered items such as handwashing, toilets and urinals, water, gender and life skills education. The pilot also looked at the issues around scaling up including costs and capacity building.
