Summary (100 words or less):

One goal of this paper is to help and inspire people who are working within School Sanitation and Hygiene Education – and it provides an insight into what is happening in other countries. It includes case studies from three regions: Africa, Asia and South America, each focusing on a different topic. In Kenya, the case study looks as school health clubs and how they can support behavioural change, while the study from Uganda focuses on scaling up SSHE initiatives. There are also case studies on gender sensitivity in SSHE projects; SSHE promotion; using participatory diagnosis, building sustainability and successful schemes.
