Summary (100 words or less):

Making WASH in Schools More Sustainable acknowledges that there is no better environment in which to learn the importance of basic hygiene methods than a school. The publication brings together case studies from across the world of successfully implemented WASH in Schools schemes. It measures these case studies’ success on five sustainability criteria: that it promotes health and hygiene effectively; it protects the environment and natural resources; it is technically appropriate; is an economically viable scheme; and that is it socially acceptable and institutionally appropriate. It includes contacts for each scheme and further recommended reading.
