Summary (100 words or less):

Soil-transmitted helminthiasis (STH) is a major public burden to Bangaldesh, affecting up to 92% of schoolchildren in some areas. Yet improved hygiene practices and sanitation conditions can help reduce incidences. This assessment identified key points of intersection for WASH, which – with some investment – could improve the potential for reduced rates of worm re-infection. Following its results, this assessment made three recommendations. To create and facilitate a national Hygiene Stakeholder Cluster Group; to develop to teach-training strategy that emphasizes behavioural change rather than just knowledge building; and to conduct operations research to identify knowledge gaps at the WASH/STH intersection.
