Summary (100 words or less):

The goal of this BRAC-initiated WASH program is to ensure access to sustainable sanitation services and provide education on good hygiene practices. The 5-year plan has a particular focus on improving menstrual hygiene and it plans to do this through hard ware support – building separate latrines for girls; enhanced hygiene education – with pupils encouraged to share what they learn with their families; and developing a means for maintaining the infrastructure – through WASH committees and student brigades. Positive change has been seen – in particular with girls having more confidence to attend schools even while menstruating.
