Summary (100 words or less):

An Evaluation of the Financial Management of WASH Programs in SWASH+ Primary Schools explores how schools currently manage funds to support WASH initiatives. It found that the Kenyan government provides schools with allocated funds to support WASH activities through the Free Primary Education grant but that schools report that funds are inadequate. The evaluation also found varying levels of skill in financial management. Recommendations are made for head teachers and school administrators to receive effective training and that the FPE grant should include dedicated money for the repair, maintenance and improvement of facilities.
